I am doing some research on how Straight and KHK broke the same laws, and I have a pretty good list going, but I am wondering if anyone can brainstorm any more that I am forgetting:
Illegal strip searches
Child abuse
Sexual abuse
False imprisonment
Physical abuse
Mental abuse
Denial of the right of freedom of choice of religion
Hate Crimes
Torture
Denial of human rights
Illegal foster homes
Uncertified counselors
Unconfidential client files
Improper diagnosis
Denial of education to minors

Any suggestions on what Straight survivors experienced, I most likely experienced it in KHK, so please, mention anything that comes to mind.  Thanks!

Good list... I think you about covered it all there...

EDIT: Physical abuse is a rather broad category; under that, we could include a lot:

sleep & food deprivation
being restrained, sat on
forced to exercise
nearly suffocated to the point of passing out from having the heat turned up in the middle of the summer during an exercise rap
(this happened in St. Pete, FL under Miller Newton)

etc etc etc....

Remember that there was no communication with family of friends on 1st phase, (No specified time limit). Hell... even the police allow you phone calls.

I'm sure this breaks some kind or right.

Illegal strip searches ....How was it conducted, by whom?

Child abuse ....Who was abused, How were they abused? witnesses?

Sexual abuse ...Who was abused, How were they abused? witnesses?

False imprisonment ...Back up the statement...any charges against you? Denied a writ of Habius Corpus? (sp)

Physical abuse ....Broken bones, scares, any perminate nerve damage?

Mental abuse ...Can ya get a physician to give a PTSD diag?

Denial of the right of freedom of choice of religion ....Explain...in detail.

Hate Crimes...Describe the incident or incidents....witnesses?

Torture ...Same with Mental abuse, got a physians diag of PTSD, any broken bones, scares.

Denial of human rights ....Describe in VIVID detail, List them one by one.

Illegal foster homes... Describe the conditions, name names.

Uncertified counselors.... Again, name names

Unconfidential client files...... Explain in full detail...got witnesses?

Improper diagnosis... Can you get a physician to prove otherwise?

Denial of education to minors ....Gather school records from local school administration...gather letters from former educators.

Understand, I am not raining on your parade. But I will tell you that manyof us,if not most of us waited way to long to have anything really stick. Much of what we went thru had lapsed into statutes of limitations....we waited to long....primarily because we didnt know we could do anything or were to traumatized to do anything. And we lacked any real form of orgainization at that time.

I cant express the importance of documentation. Your efforts will be laughed at without serious records of the abuse and circumstances you endured.

If you get a copy of the ISAC Crimes Report you will see many detailed out , it is a long list.

I believe Marti still holds thousands of documents to that substanciate all the crimes. Including many documents never released.

I haven't seen her in a long while so I am not sure how you would get a hold of her. You might try asking the web mistress of this board. She might know how to get a hold of her.

One specific case of abuse that happened when I was in Straight Atlanta (Marietta, GA). There were thes 3 brothers Bob, Ben, and Jeff Ambrose.

Ben was the misbehavor from hell. I saw him start misbehaving, being pinned to the floor with someone always trying to force his mouth shut. (Ben was known to bite....  :lol: )

I guess executive staff member Dennis Buttimer decided that they needed "Tough Love" and had a meeting with some of the bigger 4th and 5th phasers and told them that the misbehavers needed to have the steps drilled into them. (We all know what that meant).

That night they started grabbing the misbehavers and dragging them into the boys bathroom where the ungodly was done. They got jumped, out numbered there was no winning.

Ben who was one of the brothers had his head forced into the toilet and was beaten pretty badly. Prior to this he was forced to clean the floors of the bathrooms with a toothbrush while being held by the back of his pants. And during this time he had been made to stay awake by his oldcomers who took turns making sure that he got no sleep.

From my understanding his family did file charges against Straight. I don't know what the outcome was, however I have to commend Ben for being as strong minded as he was. All I know is that it wasn't long after the bathroom incident that all 3 brothers disappeared.

Kidnapping (those who were 18 and older)

Since it happened to me I am a witness that can document that this happened. Other players could too, the question is willingness to do so. There is one public record to substantiate this as well.

My 2005 PTSD diagnoses is documented in writing and clear states the cause as Straight Inc. That would definitely substantiate many things in the original post relevant to child abuse...ie. mental, emotional and psychological abuse, torture etc.

Back a couple of years ago I spent some time with Marti and other survivors.
They do infact have thousands of documents. Some never released.
I know they have records from the bank that held Straight funds.
I know they have many records from DFAF that have not been put in mainstream.
I also know that they hold the records for all criminal charges cited in the
"Crimes Report", "Fraud Report" and "Sembler Report".
I know they have many of Betty Semblers records as well.
I know they have some hand written records of the Semblers as well.

I also know that these records have been copied and three survivors have them.

What I don't know is how to get a hold of the three individuals that hold the records. I know Marti is one of them.

I am sure you are a well meaning survivor but you could have contacted ginger and found out how to get a hold of me and called me and asked me BEFORE you mention by name that I house all these documents.
I will be happy to provide any survivor or survivors attorney with ANY documents they need. I have no way of knowing if the person asking is a reporter, survivor or what.
I will also provide any reporter with the documents provided they intend and do a legit story.

Again, I am sure that you were just trying to help no hard feelings but i prefer to remain doing my thing in the background.
Ginger will know if the survivor asking for documents is legit. Talk to her if your legit she will give you my email.
