I wasn't sure where I should start this topic, so I decided to put it in the general section, even though I do believe it concerns to some extent (depends on your POV) the main discussion issues.
So, I just wanted to hear your opinions about conscription all over the world, and I will appreciate deep answers and not of the 'It's wrong' variety.
Just to make things clear, conscription (at least as I know it) means the mandatory army/military service of citizens in a particular country, by law. They are recruited by the state to its army. Citizens of that country who reach the age of conscription and refuse to serve are faced with legal actions (mostly, jale time).
