The other thing that france has going for it is the way kids in the senior years of high school are educated. Unlike Oz and the US they can come and go at the Lycee stage in the same manner of university students and working adults.
 While i dont know what I think of breaking it into 2 streams (those going on to uni and those not) I certainly thing it would be beneficial for non european countries to look at the increased autonomy that older adolescents get in the french education system.
