Future Men

Future Men Has Been Certified As A SEVIS

May 10, 2007
Future Men has recently been certified as a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS) school. This certification allows us to enroll foreign students and gives our school a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) approval. We are excited about this change and look forward to serving foreign students in the future. Our new campus is continuing to come together and we are looking forward to an early fall opening! We currently have 2 student openings for the month of June.

Our desire is to train young men to put off childish behaviors and obsessions with the trivial distractions of this life (godless music, foolish friends, slothfulness, anger, disrespect, offensive language/habits, sloppy clothing, lack of self-control), and to subsequently embrace the responsibilities and freedoms that come with true manhood (respect for authority, strong work ethic, obedience, and the fruit of the Spirit).

Licensed? Probably not, "faith based".
Interesting:
The Missouri Residential Program Unit (RPU) is housed under the Missouri Department of Social Services. The RPU is responsible licensing private children's residential care and child placing agencies. Specific information about licensing and licensed facilities is not available online. For additional information or questions regarding licensed facilities, call the Residential Programs Unit at 573-884-4394 and ask to speak with a Licensing Specialist.

So... qualifications necessary to obtain licensing is semi-privileged information?  And what are the chances that whoever you speak to is going to give you the complete rundown of licensing specs over the phone?  Or is this just another way to obfuscate the fact that they are not licensed?

One thing that I'd be very curious to know is what qualifies one to be considered a "foolish friend?"

Praise Jesus for our new Homeland Security masters.  I feel safer already with another uncontrollable beaurocracy helping us to get educated in "right" and "wrong"...

This is fucking unbelievable.

Anybody who has been in program can easily answer that question.  Any prior associations whatsoever.  Whether the word is "druggie" or "worldly" the method is the same.

In other news, I read in the post today the government is restricting soldier's access to sites like YouTube...  They claim it eats too much bandwith.  I know that's bullshit since they could easily use qos (quality of service) or simple quotas/throttling to manage traffic.  And I know for a fact they have more than enough equipment to do just that.  I used to build the racks (before I figured out what they were for, Lockheed bought the company, and I quit).

Milieu control over communication...  don't ya just love it.

DHS approval in this case just means they can import students from overseas because the DHS knows it's not run by (Islamic) terrorists. It doesn't mean the DHS approves of what they're doing, or even so much as really knows about it.

Well I realized that only after I posted it...  In any case, I wasn't aware the DHS had anything to do with BM camps at all.

I know, psy, I've been in program (3 and a half years).  I've just never heard of my druggie and sundry despot associates referred to as "foolish friends."  Kind of quaint!

Are you serious, TSW?  I mean I do figure these faith-oriented programs would consider Paganism to be equivalent to cavorting with Ol Scratch, but I wouldn't have imagined them to deign to refer to such in program descriptions...

May be that I'm taking everything too literally tonight.  Y'Alls probably having a good laugh at my expense!

You know, I can't help but consider this slightly benign.  As shitty as programs can be, the ones located inside the US are not nearly as harsh as the international ones; with slight exception.

It's hard to say, sometimes, which is worse:  the more obvious and odious programs which, through their flagrant physical abuses are inherently and unambiguously wrong, or the more insidious and seemingly benign ones, which squeak by under a cloak of semi-respectability, and hence can twist the soul in ways a more obvious program usually cannot.
