Well they were devil worshippers alright..and I'll bet Jesus was upset with that.

Maybe they were. Maybe they had simply been spending a lot of time playing with a ouji board; or tarot cards; or astrology; or maybe they were playing which. Maybe not. But I would expect something of the sort after such a crime.  This is very often the case.

I am curious about a possible connection. It interest me that there so often is one.

I am *Not* saying any of this will *make* a person violent. At their age, I was pretty heavily into the occult myself.

I do think overt Satanism leads to cruelty and killing. And, IMO, any occultic activity can be dangerous and destructive to the person, as well as those around them; even tho it rarely leads to anything like this murder.

As for your quip about Jesus being upset. . .
I am sure He is; as is everyone who cares about these murderous girls, and the girl who died.

Overt Satanism leads to secular humanism, unless you're talking about the insane idiots who take it serious.

SATANISTS ARE FUCKING ATHEISTS! ARGH! YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!

Blaming Satanism for anything is like blaming rock music for shit in the 1980s, and I think a ton of Straightlings would have a few words with you about that.

are satanists athiests? I think they actually beleive in higher powers and all that.

Oz did this happen in australia?
i hope so. They'll get more humane treatment there. I think being raised by madmen IS a good excuse. They " couldnt help it", so it really want their fault. (But i know what u mean-that doesn make it right)

I read about this guy commiting murder while sleepwalking. He was declared innocent. Something similar should happen to these girls.-they couldnt help it. Trauma effects the brain by essentially cutting holes in it. If you are tramatized on a daily basis by the time yo ar 17 you really cant help what you are doing.

Obviously these girls should not be let out on the street. But there must be mercy and compassion injected into their treatment. Maybe go to an aylum where they have a chance at getting out in 15 years. The justice system is too concerned with the "punishment" aspect. I know that must be part of the concern but other issues mst be taken into account if you ever want a decent society . If we just bang people down we never address the evil that causes tragedies to occur

During the Victorian and Edwarian ages people would steal food and be hanged for it. It never seemed to occur to people that they are stealing becasue they are hungy- and that is the social evil, not the theiving..thats the inevitable outcome.

So we need to deal with child abuse as we once did with chronic hunger-. Not just the outcome of child abuse. We dont do that becasue the powers that be dont care about the individual, only when the individual threatens the order

Much too serious of a reply here. Off the scale with the serious factor, you dig what I'm saying? Do some drugs or something and get back to us, ok?

PS- I'LL KILL YOU ALL WITHOUT EVEN TRYING

You must admit - it is a serious subject. I don't think it's one I would joke about, no matter what kind of drug I was on.

What kind of abuse are these two said to have been through? Are there any more articals on the case?

Yes, you're right...

I shouldn't have quipped on this thread...

Should I repent somehow?

Overt Satanism leads to secular humanism

Nihilanthic ... this is an interesting observation.  Because I was thinking that secular humanism leads to the idea of 'relative truth'.  Ya know ... if it 'feels' right, it must be so.  There is no right and there is no wrong.  This ideology really scares me ... and in some way helps to explain insane thinking.  How else can we possibly begin to comprehend the statement "It just felt right" in regards to killing another human being?

Nothing wrong with killing someone so long as it's done honorably (preferably sans pistols).

In answer to guest. It happened in Perth (Western Australia) and the link was an Oz online paper.
As to more humane treatment In that there is no death penalty and the girls are not going to be tried as adults this is right. Whether they will have a better  time in prison that the US I dont know. I think prison is not pretty in any part of the world. If the girls are aboriginal (I dont know) they may have an especially difficult time as aboringinal suicide in custody was at one stage a big issue here.

As to the satanism vs secular humanism debate i think niles is wrong. Satanism unlike paganism is really just a way for angry young assholes to go about deliberately offending the Christians next door.  It has a cetain petty spiteful malevolence to it.
"ooh lets hold a black mass and break and enter a church"
"lets deliberately mock the christians down the road"
Secular humanists are a pretty diverse group Truth seeker. i would not say that we all believe in total moral relativity. i know i dont. What i do beleieve in is the harm principal. If my behaviour is going to negatively effect others then it is not ok.
What i as a secular humanist dont beleive in is the idea that it is a god who sets down the rules of what is right and wrong.
This is entirely different to the somewhat sinister idea that there is no right or wrong only what works.
