Man if only I could call jonny law when ever one of my Mun Ji or Sun Chins goes off like that. I wouldn't have any students left.

This is just fucking demoralizing. Just talking w/ my eldest about this and she's not even the least bit shocked. Now, if it had been Brittney Speers' 3rd cousine once removed, that'd be a different story. She just told me the other day how I need  to work on myself and become a better person.

I give up, I know when I'm whooped, I lost that one for good and all  :cry2:

I dunno maybe I'm just wierd... well that is a given... but I found the article to be fucking hilarious.

I mean seriously... what judge is gonna bother with that shit?

OK silly question.. but still.. fucking a... Calling the police on a naughty kindergartener?

The aburdity is to frantically funny for me not to laugh.

I mean think about it....

In the back seat of the squad car.. her legs so short they can't touch the floor... the cops probably had an arguement over if they should get the kid a booster seat or not.

I mean god damn yo... its just to damn fucking funny.. Imagine what the parents must have said when they got the phone call saying they had to go bail their daughter out of jail at 6 years old from running wild in her kindergarten class?

Do you think they offered to let her play with the siren if she stopped crying? Or was she that big of a menace that they peppered sprayed this unleashed engine of Kindergarten mayhem?

I deal with Kindergarten kids almost everyday and holy fuck.. I've seen them do some wild shit. One kid stood up on his chair and pissed himself for the whole class to see. I was like.. "damn.. I'm so not cleaning that up... better go get the boss.. he can mop that shit up.."  Prolly would have to say I'd be more inclined to call the fire department to come hose the kid off than the cops though.

Prolly the 5-0 did the little twerp a favor in the end by hauling her out of that nest of loonies. Hopefully her parents see fit to sue the shit out of the school.

Wasn't home? It occasionaly does transpire that people don't own cell phones.. or their cell phone is turned off. You think they put a box of toys in the kid's cell?

See, I don't think this is funny in the least! Poor kid! She's only 6 years old. And wtF is wrong with every single alleged adult in the place? Somebody called the cops. Probably, they checked w/ their colleagues first, who supported the lunatic notion. The cops came (ok, they have to at least respond) then used their broad discretion full tilt toward the lunatic range of the scale and cuffed, stuffed and BOOKED a 6yo little girl!

I wan'st surprised at all to see a picture of a black girl when I pulled the article. Avon is in the middle of the state, still the Deep South. This just makes me fucking SICK!

I think it's really pathetic that none of the adults around her could communicate with this child, or deal with the situation without strong arming her with the police. They are clearly incompetent. This child will be stigmatized for years. I can imagine the situation. They could have just left her alone to have a tantrum and calm down. "Educators" often provoke situations like this by domineering and bullying the child, while ignoring a temper tantrum is a classic method to defuse it. How pathetic of the police, grossly pathetic.

Actually they do here. Occasionally when there are major custody issues in a divorce the judge makes the parent drop a kid off at the local cop shop where the other parent has to come and pick the kid up. Usually if the kid is little they are given a fake badge or a toy gun etc and assigned a cop to hang out with them till the other parent gets there. A relative of mine once went out with a cop whose main job was to do this sort of thing. They are supposed to try and make it fun for the kid.
I a gree this is pretty sad but the absurdity of cuffing a naughty six year old is so great that if you did not laugh you would cry!

The real fucked part is the actual training needed to deal with a 6 year old having a bad day isn't really any training at all. I'm betting that asshat of a teacher followed that kid around all day keeping on her.

prodding..

prodding..

prodding..

more and more and more..

Now remember I work with kindergartners almost every day. Rarely ever do I have to raise my voice to them. Most of the time I just glare at the offenders till they shut up and sit down. I never use a sticker system of regulated bribes. When I feel like giving a reward I do so spontaneously. Most of the time a reward is a high five or a pat on the head.

You get a kid acting like that at 6 years old you have to accept the obvious. First they aren't processing right or wrong like "most" people would. Child development theory is pretty bang on about kids at that age. Now kindergartners do know right and wrong, but that is it. They just know it. They don't really understand it and when they start acting the fool they do so with less inhibitions.

On the other hand in general nearly all of the kindergartners I've worked with all really want to be acknowledged in some way. I found that when they are acting like donkey ass the better thing that works for me is acknowledging their good behaviors.

I doubt it occurred to the teacher to come up with away that would have allowed Desiree to calm down on her own and to let her come back into the class and rejoin it calmly. More so I'm inclined to believe the teacher fed into the negative behaviors with a constant barrage of confrontations. So desiree is having problems? WTF?? Just do a reading time and ignore her. When she calms down she will come out and sit quietly. Then compliment her for sitting quietly and rejoining her class..

Suddenly the focus goes from confronting her and enraging her more.. to affirming her good behavior and making her feel better about herself.

If desiree keeps it up have the principal quietly remove her from the classroom and set her down somewhere so she can calm down outside of the classroom.

Either way working with young kids doesn't require any advanced degrees. It does require brains though. Obviously the teaching staff of that school is as clueless as it gets.

Case in point... My worst student I teach at the moment is a total hellion. The Korean teachers regularly cane him. This is a cane stick vigorously struck on the hands.

He behaves fine with me.

Of course for me he is my assistant teacher. Smart little devil who has to much energy. So rather than come down on him for having to much energy and being stuck in a class where he is to advanced I instead have begun training him to be an English teacher.

I have to say for being 12 the kid does a bang up good job. I'm proud as hell of the kid, and I'm not afraid to let him know it. Big win for both of us.. I get to kick back in one of my classes and he gets to shine.
