There are even more complaints in the news. Oprah was interviewed by the media and curtly told parents that if they had any complaints, they should bring them to her or the school master, not to the press. I find it strange that any parent, especially poor struggling ones that are supposedly who these parents are, would contact the press first and not Oprah. Perhaps they did contact the school and were ignored or threatened.
Yes, I have read this too, You may be a little unfamiliar with South Africa or any area (relatively poor area) which has a temporary celebrity attached to their name. The press is hovering everywhere trying to get a story, hit it big so they can go back to work in the home office and be with their family?.all it takes is one mother saying
?I went to visit my daughter and the gates were locked and they wouldn?t let me in?..? This will explode into isolation, not allowing a mother to speak to her daughter?.they will have shots of a desperate mother hanging onto the gate screaming (of course no money will change hands, that would be unethical)
?Please let me see my little lulu??.the gates are there to protect the kids?.it is an unsafe area unlike the US?.but this information will not reach the ears of the US public ? we need more drama!!!! Ha,Ha, If this woman called the Oprah team she would find out the gates are closed to protect the kids and she can walk in during the scheduled hours? I can see why Oprah may be frustrated?. The press uses a sharp stick sometimes to get people going and/or to get a good story. I am not a fan of Oprah at all but I can see how she could be frustrated by the stories they are telling.
