What happens when a programmed parent's financial situation takes a sharp turn for the worse and it can no longer pay for its kid to be warehoused at, say, SCL, one month in?

The kid is immediately discharged, but somehow the deposit or prepaid tuition doesn't get refunded.  At least this is my experience.

At Benchmark they just drop them on the streets.

Oh.  And the tuition is non-refundable after 6 days so the parents are pretty much fucked.

I am pretty much screwed anyway so I dont mind disclosing my contract with the school:

Your child may still remain and finish his/her program, but the following applies:

The clause was as follows:     Default policy Amended Jan 12, xxxx????????.
??????????????????.
Default article #1:   Public humiliation??? please report to national headquarters  by July, 12, xxxx  ?..

Default article #2:  Trust funds??.  All trust funds will be turned over according to state and federal laws article 66.A.

Default article #3:   Life insurance policy??..  to be signed over for all family members by August 21, xxxx

Default article #4:  Personal belongings?..  A U-haul at the schools expense will show up at your home on September 13, xxxxx

Default article #5:   Extended family assets??..by which is turned over to us by the first Thursday of the following month?????
??
Default article #6:  After all properties have been liquidated, childs trust fund exhausted and there still remains a balance that exceeds 30% of the total contract you must meet or exceed the following requirements before you can be considered paid in full:

a.   Log onto Fornits.com as a program parent and accumulate 3,000 posts or 3,000 hours which ever comes first.  You may be either neutral or favorable towards programs if you choose to post.  You may not log into or post onto StrugglingTeens.com in an attempt to gain perspective during this time period, as defined above.

b.   If after you have met the requirements of (a.) and you have not gained the respect of more than 3 regular posters or 2 moderators or Ginger W. you must change your IP and are to log in under another user name and start over.

c.   If after you have changed your IP 3 times and are unsuccessful and are still unable to pay the balance, then all you fixed assets will become subject to benefit the TBS industry for 10 years.  This includes, but is not limited to, painting you house and automobile with the colors and logos of various Therapeutic boarding Schools.  Signs affixed to your front lawn (if you have one).  All your clothing and those of immediate family members will depict the logo of a school of our choice and must be worn at all times.

That would explain a lot, actually.

Anyone else care to take a guess or post an example?

Well, the programs often sue to try and collect the funds. Sometimes, this opens the parents eyes somewhat and they begin to give a little credence to some of their kids' complaints. That's only if they're still talking, though.

Programs actually sue for turnip blood? I had no idea...

Anyway, I'll put the question I meant to ask in a different way.

Kid stays at a shitpit for a month. Kid is pulled out, not because his parents want him to be, but because they can't afford it anymore, and now he's back at home with the knowledge that his parents can't send him anywhere else because they can't afford it. What actually happens next?

SOMEbody's a little late to the party (I mean it was only blindingly obvious for the past, what, eight months?). And taking crib notes from Portal of Evil, too.

I have got to get back to work on the sequel.

But keep on spamming the threads, Cap'n Clueless! I just might find it in my heart to almost care.

The community rallies around the parent and Ty comes with his crew and everybody builds the family a brand new house on live TV! You haven't seen that one?
