Support group for Horizon Academy detainee

Help bring Jessica Lux back home!, facebook

Description:
Quote
Jessica Lux is a 14 year old girl who, after running away, was sent to a boarding school called Horizon Academy in Armagosa Valley, Nevada.

This "academy" though is run by an organization infamous for mistreatment both physically as well as emotionally. This WWASP organization has had 12 of its schools closed for abuse and torture and currently has organizations agasint it.

And for good reason. Though this place claims it helps kids, a majority of the students there end up dropping out of school because of insufficient schooling or come right back. When they first arrive students are not aloud to speak without permission, go to the batheroom alone, or make eye contact with members of the opposite sex. They're given no former notice as to when they are to leave and must finish the program before they can. This program works on a point system where the student receives points on behavior though it has been said being social with the staff will earn you more.

Though she gets monthly phone calls with her parents Jessica is not aloud to say she wants to leave or have any mention of old friends.(calls monitored) Most these phone calls have ended with her crying and saying she wants to stay there. There is no given guarantee when they will return and as they make 3,000 dollars a month per student who has more incentive to have them there longer?

"It is one of the less known facilities. It is placed on the corner of West Mecca Road and Highway Route 373 in Amargosa Valley, Nevada
It uses WWASP level system. It is placed in a remote area with desert around it. Nearest town is Pahrump."

Please be civil towards her parents. They were properly desperate and grabbed the first solution at hand. They properly have no idea what kind of damage which they have exposted her to.

Bump!

Now where Morgan is free, this girl needs help, letters of support.

We have noticed that this Death Valley teen prison has been active in a marketing campaign lately involving videos over Youtube.

If this "Academy" is associated with 'Casa by the sea' in Mexico, you should be ASHAMED of yourselves. Your unethical practices are DISGUSTING. I am putting this nicely. If any parents can read this before sending your children to this academy, take a first-hand look at the place. Ask for a personal interview with one of the young persons in treatment. Do NOT rely on solely the website for all of your information. If you do so, you can accurately call yourself a BAD parent or advocate of the child.
Is that place really as bad as I hear? It seems a bit better than the other places but I can't be too sure because it opened recently and there isn't too much out there about it..
as a former student i would say this place sucked bad. I will not say there were kids getting beaten like at the previous owner jade robinsons school casa by the sea, i will also not deny it because i never saw it but it probably wouldnt surprise me if i heard it, all that school did for me was help me be dependent when dealing with emotions everything else i picked up on my own after the academy with life lessons, you can have people preach to your kid all day and make them bleed sweat from all the running we did there but nothing will ever prepare your kids for the decisions they will have to make in life, thats why i believe this school is not necessarily a waist but it only can do so much, and for some people it does worst because had i not already been emotionally strong i could see how easy it would be to crack in a place like that or just lose it.
I understand that many people say that Horizon is a boot camp where kids are tortured and this, that and the other. Well, I graduated from there and its a good school where most staff care. I have NEVER seen or heard of anyone being "physically abused". Yes, there are times when we were yelled at for reasons I deem unnecessary, but kids are cussed at in public school all the time. I think that a lot of people are bitter because they sent kids to a programs and those kids chose not to change. But I can only speak for myself and I'm tired of all this bashing of Horizon
