So send your letter if you think it will make you feel better, hell drive to where ever this office is and go in and actually speak to someone if it will make a difference to you...but how many more years are you going to allow straight and the people behind it to consume you?? Haven't you given them enough of your energy already?
This is my life's work, my friend, I am an anarchist. I seek out authority and destroy it, as authority seeks me. This is what brought them to me in the first place. They know who I am. They recognize my nature and I theirs. We know each other from a long way back. I have no energy to give, but cannot deny my nature. I am like a tree growin' toward the Sun. I'm like a starrrr, man...burnin.
If this really is your life's work..than what are you doing about it besides trying to locate records that no longer exit and lamenting over what straight stole from you?
Are you involved with any youth programs where you live where your experience of being in straight might help other families from making that same mistake?
There are a number of different places, shelters, etc. that would welcome a volunteer willing to help kids when they are the most vulnerable and truly in need of guidence.
Horrible things happen to good people every day and at the risk of sounding cliche.... this is the way of life. It's not whether or not something really rough happens to you that matters, it's what you choose to do with it when it does.
Many years ago I had the fortune to meet a survivor from a concentration camp in Poland. She amazed me with her love and kindness but mostly with how she viewed her life.
She said that while that experience had changed her...and she lost most of her family too, surviving it had made her more determined then ever to live her life fully every day, and that was what she had done. Scarred forever...absolutely..but able to go on and have happiness and love in her life, in spite of it all.
By all means, don't deny your nature, but remember as someone wise has said, that life is precious and short.
