Whtimore is closed - ??? Why the hype??? Why not focus on the programs that are open where kids are being abused???

OK, list the programs that PURE refers to.  Lay all the cards on the table.  She kept referring to Whitmore DURING the abuse investigation and AFTER Cheryl had been charged.  Makes me wonder...... A LOT.....about the programs she currently refers to.

Sue refers to schools that have abuse allegations flying around.  That throws her credibility out the window if you ask me.  I was trying to show that just because Cheryl isn't behind bars doesn't mean she isn't guilty as sin.  The Fountain family (who own and operate Bethel Boys Academy aka many diff. names now) were abusing children.  The victims had proof, medical documentation, former employees willing to testify, etc.  All the Fountain family did in the end was sign a piece of paper saying that they won't do that anymore.  Oh brother.  If Sue was a caring parent (like she claims), she would only refer parents to places that she would send her own child.  Oh wait, she sent her child to a WWASP school.  Never mind.

That's why I think it's so important to find out which programs she refers to.  If she was still referring to Whitmore after the abuse charges were filed, what else is going on? How are parents supposed to know?  Sue, did you at least inform prospective parents of the abuse charges that were filed or didn't you feel that was an important bit of information?  Anyone know if she disclosed that?

So what are Bock's options?  Can she file an appeal?  I sure as hell hope so.

Also, what are the damages Scheff claimed that added up to $7 million or so?  The article said $5 mill was for punitive damages only.

Any lawyers or others that know about such matters in the house tonight?

This is just too bizarre in contrast to the settlement the parents of Ryan Lewis got ($1.2 million I think it was) for his death at Alldredge Academy.  Not that any amount can compensate parents for the loss of a child but it's hard to imagine how these jurors in the PURE case came up with their figure of more than $13 million dollars.

I would think she could appeal if she can find a lawyer to take her case. I suspect finding and paying for the attorney is the problem.

Regarding Cheryl Sudweek's plea bargain, and her ever running any tyype of a program in Juab County- Utah:
Call Jared Eldridge, the prosecutor and have him read it to you:
The language states:
" Cheryl Sudweeks agrees that in return (for entering this plea agreement) she waives, forfeits, relinguishes any privilege or right she may have to operate or be involved in any capacity with any program offering services of any kind to children within the boundaries of Juab County for the rest of her life."

That sure sounds like she can't operate a program in Juab County, UTAH ever again.

Too bad it doesn't include the entire State of Utah, or the entire United States of America huh?

Thus the need for HR 1738.

Now might be a good time to call your reps and let them know you'll be voting for the other guy b/c of their lack of support.
