not for a second. I love life and would never support your lame-assed cry for a friend. If you do off yourself, for god sakes, in the memory of those that suffered...at least use a spork!

There are a few things I've been wonderin'...

Is the media gonna be invited too, or what is the situation with that ??  Whether or not the media is invited or otherwise covers the story, I think we should document it on video ourselves.  Who is capable of doing a good job of that ?? maybe a still photographer too.  I gotta photographer buddy who might be interested in covering the event.  He aint a survivor, but he's a good friend and a pro.  I'll talk to him.

I don't see why we need to talk to the fuzz about any of this, but I think it might be a good idea to get the permission to use Fergusons' space in writing, or something, as someone suggested earlier, just in case the heat does show and tries to break all their fuzz-jive down on us.  At least we would have something in writing to show them.  I really don't want the cops there, or for them to even know about this at all.

Are any of the other programs gonna take part, besides Springfield ?? FLA survivors ??  Doc ?? Dallas kids ?? Combat zone punks(Boston) ?? etc.  'Cause right now we are preparin' to send out the invite and I'm kinda thinkin' if we're gonna do the multiple sites/simultaneous service thing then the invitations themselves should be program specific and we Springfield survivors shouldn't be sending out our invitations to St.Pete survivors, only to Springfield or survivors of other programs who are not having a local service of their own, that is unless we're just gonna have the one lone ceremony in Springfield for all survivors nationwide.  See what I'm tryin' to get at here ??  We don't want a St. Pete or Boston or Atlanta or whatever survivor to get caught holdin non-refundable airline tickets to Dulles Airport because he made his travel arrangements a day after he recieved our invitation, if theres gonna be a more local memorial service specifically for his program.  I don't know, doesn't that make sense ??  So if you're plannin' your own, program specific memorial service, down there in St.Pete or Atlanta or up in Boston or Detroit speak up now and let us know so we don't send invitations that are just gonna create trouble for people.  Or how should we handle this ??  'Cause otherwise the invitation is chompin to get out the gate.  Actually this is  pr'oly all too complicated and we will just have ta send out the invitation we have to ever'one and hope for the best.

Where can we have the after party(wake) ??  Who in the Springfield area is willing to host out of town survivors ??

This is happening.  The invitation is finalized and ready to go out to several hundred people.  We need people to verify death records so we can be sure we have accurate information.  We don't want to read someones' name off the list of the dead and then find them standing in our midst.  Dig ??  Anyone who can provide verification of a death or suicide please do so and send it to Dragonfly or myself.  I am particularly thinking of Dale Neville and Greg Northrup who were not on any of the lists.  We also don't want to leave anyone off the list who should be on it.  How and where can we find accurate information ??  Who will help ??  For example: I've heard that Ir* Kauffman commmitted suicide after $tr8, but have never seen any proof, only a rumor.

What other questions need to be addressed ??  What else do we need to consider ??

Sorry...I just thought I'd better ask...

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Yes, plans are underway for a simultaneous memorial service in St. Petersburg.  The current occupier of the building that housed Straight is not willing to let their property be used for a memorial service, so an alternate site is being selected, we are in the process of finding out if permits will be needed, and if so, securing one.

The date and time of the St. Petersburg memorial service will be the same as the service in Virginia, the location will be announced sometime this week.  Thank you for asking, tis is a good opportunity to clear that up, and , like you said, it would really be unfortunate if someone were to buy non-refundable tickets and then find out that there is going to be a memorial closer to the location they attended.  This service is not limited to those who endured the St. Petersburg Straight, all survivors of any branch of Straight, Inc. are welcome, particularly survivors of other Florida Straight programs in Sarasota and Orlando.

Thanks again for bringing this up, now is as good a time as any to announce that a memorial will be held in St. Petersburg on the same date and at the same time.  The location should be confirmed this week.

.

This is probably a good idea anyway.  There were several buildings used in St. Pete.  Morgan Yacht, Gandy and at least one other.

God I hope not.  I thought this was supposed to be a private gig, not a protest or for any purpose other than honoring and saying goodbye to old friends.  I really would be sorry to see this turned into something else.
