I heard someone, on Fornits, mention seeing information on ?Myspace? about some of the TBS.  I tried doing a search and came up with many kids who attended a TBS and also listed it as a school they attended in most cases.  It was hard to determine on most of them if it was a good experience or poor experience, but this may be a good source for collecting information about some of these places.  Maybe weed out the really poor ones or get an early read on which are getting worse or getting better.

Some of the schools have Facebook groups with over 100 members. Shows where all the kids are in school now- either college or post-TBS high school. Interesting to check out.

Facebook is like MySpace only mainly for college kids. It is now open to others, but it started as only for people with a school email address.  There are groups for each educational institution. You can only see someone's personal detail if they "friend" you. Otherwise, you just see their name and their friends.  You need to register to login to facebook.  Facebook was started by two Harvard kids and spread rapidly.  The kids are now multi-millionaires.

Ganja, I actually have to thank you, I had a cause and did what you said I was sent on a mission and picked up the Deluxe edition, sat back and enjoyed myself.  I grabbed the Quadrophenia CD also when I was out (haven?t opened it yet).  I skipped around a lot for the first hour.  I settled into ?My Generation? which was different than the original release as I remember.  It ran on for 16 minutes, similar to what I had heard in concert in ?73, they really let Townsend loose on this edition.  I caught ?Happy Jack? which I have not heard in years and ?smash the mirror? ? anyway

You're welcome. I was glad when you said you intended to take my advice and treat yourself to one of the best live recordings ever to find its way onto pressed vinyl or optical plastic, not to mention it was created by the group that bears your namesake.

Listen to disc 2 start to finish. They pretty much perform Tommy in its entirety (though the order's a little jumbled) in one amazing chunk. It's beyond classic rock; Live at Leeds is pure genius. I will have to listen to the LP again sometime soon for an in-depth comparison....  There is like twice as much material on those two CDs as there was on the original album release.... pretty amazing shit for 1970!

Yo Ganja,  Yes the 70?s was an amazing time, I spent a good part of it going to college and chasing concerts up and down the east coast.  I practically lived in a van when I wasn?t in school, 1974 I took time off of school.  We caught "King Crimson" at the spectrum in, I think April that year, and traveled down to Florida with some friends to see "Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show - Tonic for the soul" (long story we knew a friend of a friend and had a blast back stage) They were mostly local (new Jersey) and were trying to break out and we went down to add support and decided to make a year of it, caught George Harrison at the Omni in Atlanta.  Saw a ton of groups on the way up the coast (Don?t expect you to know most of these groups it was way before your time I believe).  
The most unusual concert I was ever in was in Mobile.  We were passing thru Alabama (not sure if it was ?74 might have been ?73) We went to see the group Chicago (because we happened to be there, 5 rows from the stage) and the place was so restrictive, no smoking, no talking, people in uniforms walked up and down the isles to remind you to put out your cigarette or no talking (I don?t think anyone thought of smoking anything else).   Bright lights were on the audience the whole time.  All the kids had hair cuts and were dressed up for church and would clap at the end of each song (I think we were the only ones in jeans).  They ended up with something like ?Color my World? and afterwards said ?good night? and in unison shouted ?You suck Mobile!!? ,Ha,Ha,?. it was a very strange experience, very strange night.

Well if Townsend WAS on keyboard it wouldn't have been the only time, but I don't know. There's banjo in it? You must be referring to the studio version? Live at Leeds was all recorded live as far as I could tell...

I am in business, nothing very exciting and not associated with the teen help industry.  I am presently spending 6 months helping a friend get his business back on track, so my hours are sporadic
