Quote from: ""AtomicAnt""Quote from: ""TheWho""Its all perspective. If you take a outdoor person who loves the dirt and hiking and put him in the city it might be comparably tough. Its not the dirt, its taking a kid out of his comfortable environment and allowing him to accomplish something he/she probably never thought they could,i.e, start a fire, cook, hike a few miles and at the same time learn something new about themselves, build self esteem, have a healthy diet. Expose them to something new, It works Niles, its not for everyone, I agree, some get a lot out of it others do not.Of course it is all just chuckles and giggles and self-esteem building. Just ask the girl who is screaming in pain as they torture her in the video posted earlier. In your usual avoiding style, you failed to address the video and simply told how wonderful it all was for your daughter. And Charly actually admits that it took took FIVE WEEKS for her son's anger to wear out. It took them five weeks to break him down.Charly, Who, did they twist your kids wrists like Lucy in the video? Did your kids scream in pain? Don't say it doesn't happen. I just watched it.If anyone did that to my kid, they would be answering to me pretty damn quick. I assure you they would regret laying a hand on my boy.I didn?t ignore it, I guess I am just desensitized because I have seen so much. I dont think anyone is saying it doesnt happen. What I disagree with is that this is regarded as somehow standard, unique to TBS?s or is written into their procedures somehow. Lots of really bad and shocking stuff happens to kids at the local school level, suicide, raped by a teacher, teachers being shot, public humiliation, track coaches forcing kids to run until they drop and some dieing of heart attacks. 10 times worse than twisting wrists. But when a prestigious school or controversial school or program has a problem it is put under a higher powered microscope. I think it is good, though. The more visibility the swifter the change will occur. If this happened at a school my kid was at I would pull her in a heart beat or ask for corrective action.I am with you......

Another question that goes to your credibility: How can you claim to have seen TheWho in concert in 1973? Your parents let a 13 year-old go to a Who concert? Highly doubtful.

Highly doubtful.I wont tell you my year of birth. But the concert was in the winter 1973, December I think, and it was at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. It was the Quadrophenia tour. We slept outside all night to get tickets, which you had to do in those days to guarantee seats. They might have had Ticketron but they usually sold out quickly and only had a limited number of tickets (not like today). I was a concert junkie and would (and did) drive anywhere for a tickets if I had the time and money.Have you ever sat back and cranked up Quadrophenia? If you haven’t you are missing a real treat.

Just answer the question and can the nonsense, dude. You made this statement that you are'desensitized' because you've 'seen so much' so I just want to know what you experienced that traumatized you so much.
