The really sick part, though, is that there are likely hundreds more about whom we will never hear.

The death rate of minors in programs abosultely dwarfs the death rate of non-program kids and still we continue sending them into harm's way.

If you pro-program folks could stay out of one thread here, please let it be this thread, the memorial to program causalty thread. I am sure many of us who attended programs realize how many of our friends have taken their own lives after suffering traumatic abuse at various programs. So your argument sounds ridiculous, it really does. Why not take it elsewhere, start a new thread or something. Or not, it's up to you.

Thank you for your kindness.  I never would have had my daughter there; her father had her kidnapped out of my custody in a fit of rage to punish her and it took three weeks to get her out.  Three weeks of (at the age of 13) being kept awake, forced to confess "dirt", told she was a loser and a slut etc. you guys know the drill.  Like everyone who's names are on this site she was a beautiful person and did not deserve this.  Even if she was the worst out of control brat I never would have subjected her to this.  My heart goes out to all of you who had to be there.

Listen you dumb f**k  The death rate of kids, at least from suicide, that might have "qualified" to go to a "program" and didn't would have skyrockted if they had gone to the program.  Screw you and statistics.  Look at the list again.  It is just the bare tip of the iceberg.  Even one death is one too many.

Statistics give us a useful tool for examining and interpreting trends and schemes. However they are only useful when they are complete and independantly interpreted.
