Herbie Hancock_Thrust(v)
I borrowed this LP from someone years ago when i was working at the old "OK Corral" (OK Natural Foods) down on Preston St...I ended up taping a couple of the tracks from it before returning it to the guy who lent it to me...still have that tape!

hey man.  yeah, I just picked that up at the shady dog, on the main line outta Philly.  Killer funky stuff.  I think I'm into Herbie Hancock.

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

well, thank you for trying, but no Tom, sorry, the one I'm thinking about is faster tempo and the guy's voice is somewhat raspy. It sounds a little like ZZ Top "Pocket full of change", sort of... if that helps. the classic line in it is the "I'm goin down down down down down" and maybe the name of the song IS goin down? I'll check it out

I believe the song is "Union Square" from the 1985 album, Rain Dogs (by Tom Waits).

Haf-adai mi amigos...I had a strange flu-like sickness the other day, gave me the chills pretty bad, so the next day as part of my recovery, I poured whiskey in my tea 'n' honey all afternoon and celebrated the life of the 113 year ol' WW1 vet who passed away in Britain the other day.  He credited his longevity to cigarettes, whiskey and wild women.  Made me want to play that song by the same title, you know the ol' country song: "Cigyureets and whiskey and wild, wild women...they'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane...", but I guess I don't have that in my collection, think I heard it down at Dragon Fly's when I was there.  Anyway that was the inspiration for the country on the turntable yesterday.  Damn good drinkin music too.

The Chieftains_some stuff off of Bonaparte's Retreat, side 1 or 2, can't remember this mornin.

Waylon Jennings_from his Greatest Hits: "Ladies Love Outlaws", "I've Always Been Crazy", "I'm A Ramblin Man"

Willie Nelson(pot smokin, tax evadin son-of-a-gun)_"It's Not Supposed To Be That Way"

Johnny Cash_"Folsom Prison Blues"

Stray Cats_"Drink That bottle Down"(live)

Lowell George(one of the most under-rated singers, social deviants and slide guitar players of all time)_from Thanks, I'll Eat It Here, side 2: "Cheek to Cheek", "Easy Money", "20 Million Things", "Find A River", "Himmler's Ring"

Little Feat__"Dixie Chicken"(w Vince Gill and Sonny Landreth), "Champion of the World"(w/ J. Buffett), "Willin"(w/ Brooks and Dunn), "This Land Is Your Land"(w/ Mike Gordon), "Spanish Moon"(w/ Craig Fuller and Vince Gill), and "Trouble"(w/ Inara George)

Bob Dylan_from The Times they Are-A Changin: "Only A pawn In Their Game", "The Ballad of Hollis Brown"(perhaps my favorite Dylan song)

Fleetwood Mac_from the Fleetwood Mac Live in Chicago 1969 cd my cuzzin made for me_whatever the first song on there is, the one with Buddy Guy...not sure of the exact title of this album or the name of the song I listened to.

Fleetwood Mac_from the 1975 self-titled album: "Landslide" and "World Turning" and from the Rumours album: "2nd Hand News"

and ending with Metallica_from Kill 'Em All: "Hit The Lights", "The 4 Horseman", "Motorbreath", and "Jump In the Fire"

...all on vinyl except the Little Feat and Friends and the Fleetwood Mac Live in Chicago, 1969, on cd

...and Hey. can anyone burn me the good Hawkwind ??  Also still looking for any Reconstruction(w Jerry Garcia) I can find

Peace.
