Van Morrison - Greatest Hits album

What a great singer/songwriter. I have this one & I like it.. Have you ever listened to Astral Weeks?"

Woops, sorry, actually it wasn't the "greatest hits" I just wrote that cause I didn't feel like runnin' downstairs to check the actual title.  The real, actual title is "The Best of Van Morrison".  I guess that's the last time I'll make an assumption like that.  I hope it don't hurt my credibility too much!!

I love Van Morrison.  I agree with you.  He is an incredible artist, especially when he's had too much to drink and sings duets with Sinead O'Conner on Late Night.  Never heard "Astral Weeks", what's that ??"

Yeah, yeah...that's the one, lol.

Astral Weeks? It's a great album by Van Morrison, but one of the best albums of all time!! Lester Bangs writes about it here:

Cramps--Bad Music For Bad People

Rolling Stones--"I Just Want To See His Face"

The Fixx--"Saved By Zero" & "One Thing Leads To Another"

Big Midnight--"Doin' Alright"

Peter Gabriel--"Games Without Frontiers"

Hank Williams III--Straight To Hell

and some other stuff on Sirius.  Listened to the old jazz station, too, it was a good soundtrack for my day-and-a-half long speedball session. Like Wm. S. Burroughs said, "if god made anything better than a shot of coke and heroin, he kept it for himself".

Like that stuff.  Fables of the Reconstruction is one of my faves by them, though I've heard they don't particularly like it.  I really like "Old Man Kensey" and "Maps and Legends" from that one.

Np... If you liked that article, I suggest you check out the book "Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung" by the same author (Lester Bangs).

Hey! Umm...These 2 selections look real good to me.  Any chance you could hook me up ??  I have some Allmans boots and various Dead and one Reconstruction(Jerry G. on guitar, somewhat hissy but still worth it)boot and 2 Marley boots.  I have live Canned Heat(not the greatest quality though), lots of String Cheese Incident, Hot Buttered Rum String Band, and some Yonder Mountain boots too.  Oh! also Bruce Hornsby and the Range boots too.  Wanna trade some stuff ??

I'm listenin' to my Reconstruction boot right now.

Can anyone hook me up with more Reconstruction ??  I am finding them difficult to come by.  Even my heavy heady friends don't have none.  Who wants to be a hero ??  Peace.[ This Message was edited by: starry-eyed pirate on 2006-03-02 17:30 ]
