Bad.  I listened to this one on my phases all the time.  Haven't been able to find the vinyl yet and I don't even have it on CD!  I'll get it though.

I found the LP at a thrift store a while ago. Yeah, there're a couple of good cuts on it that weren't mega-hits.

A friend and I played the song "I'm Eighteen" by Alice Cooper last night right before closing at this local huck student bar.. He sang and played the lead part on a harp (harmonica) and I played some dude's wired acoustic through the PA... This was the first time we ever played together..it was a decent enough and pretty flawless performance..

After that we came back & listened to some really cool Beatlesque (in the truest & best sense of the word) songs that were on a tape that he'd brought along w/ him. He had recorded these songs a while back..

Stuff I listened to today was...

David Bowie - "Queen Bitch"
Some John Coltrane
The Beatles White Album (Side 3)

Hugh Masekela _ Still Grazing, The Musical Journey of Hugh Masekela.

"Trumpeter/flugelhornist/vocalist, Hugh Masekela came to N.Y. in the early 1960s when his S.African homeland was suffering through the fierce injustices of apartheid.  A self-proclaimed jazz worshipper, he wanted to join the band of Art Blakey or Horace Silver or one of his other heroes.  Instead he became a "world music" pioneer, mixing up the bright sounds and rhythyms of the townships with jazz, r&b, and Brazillian samba.  Released in conjunction with his autobiography, this disc features recordings from Masekela's Chisa, Uni, and Blue Thumb releases, a formative stretch of a long career."

-from the back of the disc.

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

The Who - "Who Are You"

Another great song...."I woke up in a Soho doorway, a policeman knew my name.  He said you can go sleep at home tonight, if you can get up an' walk away..."

Yeah, ma-an!  I mean that is some good fuckin rock-n-roll !!!

I once picked up this ol' hitch hiker.  This was at least 10 years ago now.  He was on the side of rt. 8 headin' north outta Butler, still at the bottom of the hill.  He musta been 55.  Wearin an ol' farmers flannel shirt.  He gave me a lucky strike and as the opening chords to "Who Are You" came on the radio we eyed each other suspiciously.  Everything was cool though, as usual.

Had Billie Holiday on the turntable last hour, some untitled record.  I broke it out of its original seal to play it!!!   Currently got a Ray Charles record spinnin.  "the Best of..."

All highed up...
