Primitive Radio Gods--"Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Exact Change In My Hand"  (a guilty pleasure to be sure, but great lyrics for an FM pop song (We swim like lions through the crest/and bathe ourselves in zebra flesh and Mother Theresa's joined the mob/unhappy with her part-time job), and a damn catchy tune.

Pavement--"Gold Sounds"

Fuzztones--"Heathen Set"

Sniff and the Tears--"Driver's Seat" (another awesome pop song, this one from the early 80s; I used to hear this one on the Robert W. Morgan weekly radio show.  My mom, in a fit of pre-Straight anti-drug hysteria, actually thought that the first word in the name of the band was a reference to cocaine use and was probably particularly delighted to get rid of that one as part of Straight's policy of stealing or destroying our personal belongings.)

Frank Zappa--"Willie The Pimp" (one of my faves, has bad-ass vocals by Capt. Beefheart.  Hot Rats!)

Golden Earring--"When The Lady Smiles" (a sick and twisted joke disguised as a song)

Beatles--"Hey Bulldog"

Iggy Pop--"China Girl" (an ode to heroin disguised as a love song)

Ventures--"Journey To The Stars"

Arctic Monkeys--"I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor" (cool stuff, but not my favorite song by them.)

Queen--"'39" (song about the volunteers, mainly Anarchists and Communists, who went to Spain to fight against Franco and the rising tide of Fascism in Europe)

I haven't heard much of him on Sirius, just occasionally, but I know he's on tour constantly, usually playing smaller clubs."

Cool, thanx for the information.  Wouldn't mind catchin' the cat in one of those small clubs sometime.

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Walked in on this duo calling themselves City Squirrel last night. They were playing at this café in town. The guy (who sang pretty well) had a nice 12-string Guild and the lady was playing an electric viola...sounded real nice.
