Shit, man.. I know I posted something this last week, right after that last post^, and it's gone now...apparently this was due to some admin tweakaj. But it got me thinking, maybe it's time to relinquish this protracted, obsessive habit of logging and posting most of what I listen to (Besides, what's the use if the data gets lost? Aside from the obvious musical exchange going on in this thread, I'll admit I was relying on this particular piece of cyber-space as a sort of repository that I would often refer back to and spy on my 'earlier selves,' so to speak...a way to remember and track my existence!) I would like to hear your thoughts on this...

I sometimes use this forum in the same or a smilar way---to see what I'd been listening to at different times, to see what other people are listening to so that I might be introduced to new music I may like, and to generally boast of my love of druggie music, along with occasional asides regarding the joys of the so-called (by Str8 and it's supporters) "druggie lifestyle".

As to your greater point of "tracking one's existence", yeah, I definitely use this thread (and some other parts of this forum , such as the thread on Straight Survivors regarding the use of cannabis and other drugs.....) to track "where I was at" at different points in my life, and my "recovery from recovery".   I think that is the reason more than any other why I continue to check in on a forum that has become otherwise mundane, tedious, and boring.   The trolls on here aren't clever, funny, or even really annoying.......they are just lame, and have more in common with Ukrainian spammers than they do with the clever wit and wisdom of trollls of yesteryear, such as the ones who claimed to be staff members for a fictitious revival of Str8INC.   Now THAT shit was fucking hilarious, and served to greater illustrate the absurdity that Str8 and places of its ilk were in any way therapeutic or helpful to anyone, whether or not they had substance abuse isssues.   Nowadays the trolls here just plain suck, so this and the aforementioned thread regarding the use of marijuana are really the only reasons I come here anymore.

Yeah, well, yeah.......

De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
Their innocence will pull me through
De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
They're meaningless and all that's true.

Played with some heavy metal guitarist this week in Mississippi....and down loaded Frigid Pinks, House of the Rising Sun.....Had the song down in an hour and they thought it was a new song.....I think that song was recorded in 1968....any how we jammed the hell out of it ....and they are gonna make it in one of there sets.....go figure.

The most popular version was recorded by The Animals in 1964, but the authorship of "The House of the Rising Sun" is uncertain:
