Hah, I remember this song! One of the MD 7steppers I was hanging out with had whatever album that was on.

"You nearly got high on some birth control pills."

What a great line; it spoke to me at the time...lol. -Frod

That Angelic Upstarts stuff good? (I'll admit I'm not that familiar with them.)

That early Clash stuff is pretty good, isn't it?

Yeah, some of Angelic Upstarts is a bit slooooow, but then it picks up.  Kinda reminds me of The Pogues.

Well, I guess you can tell I was getting an overdose of The Clash...yep!  Their early stuff is what The Clash is all about.

Television - Adventure
Told ya that was a good one.  Check out Live In San Francisco 1978 and The Blow Up for live performances that shred on the studio versions.  Also, their eponymous 1986 release is worth having.  Great songs, slick production.  Almost like Television with Steely Dan's production values.  Interesting.

Quote
Ellen Foley - NightOut (v)

She sang backing vocals on BOC's Mirrors, and her voice can be heard on the track "The Vigil" as a buzzing noise when played normally.  WHen played backwards, she is reciting the Lord's Prayer.  They did all kinds of stuff with backwards effects, in keeping with the title theme.

I've been listening to the Stalk-Forrest Group, "Curse Of The Hidden Mirror", "A Fact About Sneakers", and "St. Cecelia".  Stalk-Forrest Group is the band that became Blue Oyster Cult.

Television... Yeah, it sure is a good one! My friend (songwriter guitar dude I've been playing with) played it in his car while we were riding around yesterday... I thought I recalled you mentioning it.

Everything about their album Adventure is really good! The songs themselves are great; not a superflous note to be found anywhere. The sound production was way above par. All of the songs are concise, yet possess a certain complexity thanks to Verlaine's interesting guitar lines...

Ellen Foley.. I used to have Mirrors. It was the only album I had by BÖC back in those bygone days of early adolescence, but I recall liking it a lot- especially "The Vigil." I had no idea who Ellen Foley was and wouldn't have made that connection now. Yeah, her album is pretty cool- she can really belt it out; it's fun to listen to.

Fuckin' a @ Into the White. One of my favorites.

I think I read somewhere that Kim wrote that, but she's not credited on the B-sides album, so I dunno.
