Yeah, no kidding. I don't know if I buy the idea that there's a special taskforce assigned to babysit us reprobates just because we were in a program. How-some-ever, we are, collectivly pissing in the faces of some pretty powerful and ruthlessly vindictive people. We
know how fucked up they are, don't we all, chillin's? Shit, what are we talking about but a monumentally fucked up group of sadistic lunatics w/ money and power to burn?
Honest to God, I apreciate the attention and company, wit and (dare I say) friendship of my worst troll/stalker ever far more than the likes of those sadistic, sanctimonious assholes.
But yeah, it's a big bad world out there and there are bad guys in it. PLEASE don't take the idea that the net is a safe little sand box to play in or that everybody who posts to this little corner of it is just what they say they are and purely kind and decent. That would be foolish. In general, here or elsewhere, don't trust anybody any more than you know them or more than they warrant.
But what about the cops? Personally, I don't know of any for sure. But what if some proud program grad is now an elite taskforce snitch looking for dirt? On some level, they
must know they're fighting for the wrong side. One of the frequent pittfalls of undercover work is that the cop gets wrapped up and warped in the drama, picks up addictions and other bad habits, comes to genuinely love and respect the targets and, very often, has a total breakdown of concience and lucidity.
So what do you do if you suspect your new friend is an All American Finking Freddy? Tell them the truth about the Program. And you might consider encouraging them to contact Howard Wooldridge of LEAP
http://LEAP.cc/ (hint, hint!)
Just don't invest in them any more trust than they have earned from you. Who do you think is easier to turn; a cop who thinks he's fighting on the side of good in working for the Semblers'/Büsh's inteterests or one of us who's just trying to let the world know what's going on inside those private and public gulags?
Here's the ticket for me. I don't hate cops. With very few exceptions, I don't really hate anybody. I think most cops are terribly misguided in trying to fight war on people who prefer TBPITW over another round of 12oz curles. But not all of them (see LEAP reference above). They are, after all, real live human beings underneath the fascade.
I am an atheist, out and out. It took me a long time to say it. I've been an atheist for years and years, but somehow I felt it was intellectually unrespectable to say that one is an atheist, because it assumed knowledge that one didn't have. Somehow it was better to say one was a humanist or agnostic. I don't have the evidence to prove that God doesn't exist, but I so strongly suspect that he doesn't that I don't want to waste my time.
