MOre casualties of the troubled-teen industry, The  mother of the late Michael Wiltsie who was crushed to death by a 300 lb counselor (who was found not guilty by the courts), apparently committed a murder-suicide with her 7 year old son, leaving her 16 year old son to find them in the SUV in the garage.  Please see http://www.ficausa.com for more details.

OK, this is awful, but no one even knows if it's suicide. If it was, how can you assume it had anything to do with the death of her son? This seems extremely disrespectful. Even her own family may never know.

Disrespectful? Please!!! There is no doubt in my mind that the death of her son contributed to her being mentally unstable. The only person I feel really sorry for is her 7 year old son. She obviously felt incredibley guilty for basically sending her son away thus resulting in his accidental death. I doubt I would be able to live with myself either. So, to all parents out there.......beware! This can happen to you.

Don't you think the "Shit Happens" file is getting a little full?!!

The whole thing is sad. And the victims are her whole family. But the only guilt that should be felt in this situation is the counselor who caused the son to die. She shouldnt have felt guilty as she would have had no idea that situation would happen.

Call me a heartless bitch, but I guess we could then say, well it's not the poor counselors fault, he was just doing what he was trained to do? Ummm.........yes the Mom should have felt guilty. The kid was 12!!!! I'm sorry she killed herself, I am, I truely am, but if she would've never sent him away, well none of this would have ever happened!!!

In its report, the grand jury slammed the state Department of Juvenile Justice for placing Wiltsie in a program for juveniles with criminal records or behavioral problems in school. The department should have provided him with residential mental health facilities, which previous experts had recommended for Wiltsie, the report said.

There are currently three articles out there. Two acknowledge this as an "apparent" suicide, and two mention that autopsies are pending. I consider all this relevant.

I think it's just a matter of humility to acknowledge that we can't really know what happened here. There is no mention of a note, no indication of what else is going on in the life of this family. It's presumptuous to latch onto an incident like this to justify your position. It could also be hurtful for the remaining family members.

I don't think she needed a note. I think it was pretty obvious why she took her life. I'm sure she had enough people around her that blammed her for her sons death. Why drag the whole world into it? The only thing that sux, is that the 7 year old was in the car with her. The 7 year old should have been swapped for the 300 pound fat fuck, who killed this innocent 12 year old kid.

Amen on the worthlessness of the fat fuck.  

To the people who are saying that maybe it's not a program's fault that the 12 year old was murdered by a counselor and that the family has ongoing problems, I'd like to ask you, if we can't blame a program when staff kill the kids, when in your opinion can we hold them accountable for their actions?

Listen to yourselves, programmees.  You keep backlashing without looking at the facts.  A 12 YEAR OLD CHILD WAS KILLED BY A STAFF MEMBER.  NOW A NEWSPAPER REPORTS THAT THE MOTHER OF THAT CHILD COMMITTED AN APPARENT MURDER-SUICIDE.

Any intersted partakers that want to take a crack at what her suicide note would've said if she actually would've taken the time to write it?

I just sent an email to TAUSA, here is a link to a special report about Mikey.  Very sad, the pictures. He was obviously a much loved little boy and his gravestone is just heartbreaking.

If I am not mistaken, that is his mother kneeling at his grave.
