Another Tragedy

Though I know Mission Mountain School has it's own space here on Fornits, I felt this was important and should be shared.

According to an Anon poster, verified by others, a girl who attended Mission Mountain School committed suicide last week.

Word has it she was talking about the injustices she felt went on there, and that she had been threatened that if she continued to talk about it, the school would file a lawsuit against her.

It sounds like she was not treated well there, to say the least, and that she never received the help she desperately needed. Instead she was humiliated and her issues were not properly adressed.

And now another child is gone.

She was 22 years old, in college, and involved in a relationship.

"According to an Anon poster . . ."

"Word has it . . ."

"It sounds like . . . "

It seems extraordinarily disrespectful of this young lady to highjack her tragedy for your agenda.

Could someone who knew her post some links to her comments. Did she have a user name here? Also, please post any news articles. This is for my personal file on deaths in the industry. Thanks.

Doesn't it seem a bit of a reach to blame a death on a program attended at least 4, if not more, years earlier.  Maybe the program was not so good, maybe it did or didn't do lots of things.  But ... it seems a bit too long ago to say what happened then caused a suicide.  I'd rather think the anger/resentment about a program would bring something else, like protests or a lawsuit.

"Word has it" is also a wonderfully reliable source of facts, but here even it hasn't touched on what the poor girl did or should have done for the last 4+ years.

I can tell you from personal experience that I have considered it a few times since getting out that I can directly attribute to the program.  About 5,10 and 20+ years later.  The psychological effects linger for a very, very long time.
