Update on Anchor

Update:  The situation that is being mentioned about a staff member at Anchor Academy happened three years ago and was turned over to the Sheriff's office.  The employee was hired as a dorm supervior and was inappropriate and dismissed.  The former employee was prosecuted by the local police department.  

Come on people, if you don't have anything more current to "hang Anchor Academy" with than that, you are really stretching it.  I would hate to be your enemy.   In fact, it seems that is mentioned in the Bible...Am I now become your enemy because I tell you the truth?  I feel like I am your enemy and I don't even know you.  If Anchor Academy is bad and does wrong and is guilty of really committing abuse, then by all means, shut them down.  If on the other hand, they are helping young men, youth, students, then give them some slack.  [ This Message was edited by: Pastor on 2005-10-09 13:21 ]

Thanks for the update.  This board would be more helpful to parents and kids if there were less bashing of individuals who didn't share a certain mindset.

Well that's nice ... but what about the children?  The ones this sicko supervised?  How are they doing?  Did they get PROFESSIONAL counseling/therapy?  What about follow-up care for PTSD?

Pastor, instead of us proving to you Anchor is a bad program, why don't you prove to all of us that Anchor is a good program. Not sure what your motivation is to redeem this program on Fornits?

NOBODY has PROVED Anchor good or bad.  The bashers have only alleged that there is some connection to an allegedly bad actor (Roloff), but no support for even that asserted connection.  There's been no "evidence" here of anything bad -- the closest being an incident some years ago that was immediately addressed and is like what has happened in open, public schools elsewhere.  But no condemnation of public schools - or is there??

It seems proving good would have to disprove every other possibility, while "proving" bad takes only an unsupported assertion or blanket condemnation.
