Is anyone else noticing a familiar pattern here?

When Mel and Betty and their BOD and initial Seelding staff founded Straight, they did so w/ absolutely no expertise in the field of drug rehabilitation. Their only claim to experience was having been subjected to the BM methods they intended to employ.

So then Newton starts publishing books w/ his claim to fame having been rising up through the ranks of these same incompetent, unqualified, self appointed zealots.

Donald Ian MacDonald went from being a pediatrician w/ a kid in an alleged drug rehab to Reagan's appointee as "Special Assistant to the President for Drug Abuse Policy and Director of the White House Drug Abuse Policy Office".

Sembler and Zappala, similarly unqualified, receive plum appointments to ambassadorships in pleasant little tourist spots from former CIA head, GHW Büsh.

Under the current Büsh regime, all the family friends are on scene to play world leader w/ little Georgie. Sort of reminds me of that Twilight Zone ep w/ the little kid who could wish people into the corn fields, ya' know?

Karen Hughes, the soccer mom from the Bible Belt, gets a position created just for Christian Amanpour.... What better person to send to counter the image of America as an agressive, uncaring, corrupt empire than a Baptist woman from Texas who stands accused of election tampering?

Then there's Turd Blossom, good old buddy and master of smash mouth attacks and other dirty tricks. Does he not remind anyone else of a Jr. Staffer?

Now comes Mike Brown, who is no more qualified to direct FEMA operations than W ever was to be president. But who cares? They're just playing anyway! Just like the program founders who up and declared themselves experts on the wild and wooly teenager beast, substance abuse and the successful execution of an international prohibition.

When will enough of us notice that these proponants of empire are stark naked and raving mad?

If quitting drugs means joining the war on terrorism, does this portend the fire bombing of Amsterdamn ?
