Forward:

My company is producing a play titled PG-13. It is a multi-media docudrama. We interviewed kids and adults who had been through the juvenile justice system and to protect their identities, created fictional characters using the information we received. The play opens in Rome, Georgia July 22. We were also asked to adapt it to film by a lawyer who knew of my work (I usually only write and produce films although I am very active with the local theatre groups). He plans on taking the film to the courts in Georgia to try and make it mandatory for first time offenders and their families to watch it. We have received funding to make the film, filming starts in August. The play and film are a way for us to get these kid's voices heard. Many of them are too scared to come forward because they are still in abusive situations.

With the attention and word of mouth about the project, we caught the attention of a producer from CNN. He has offered to help me get an investigative documentary shown on CNN, but I have to have people willing to step forward and be on camera (even with faces blurred if they desire) to talk about what is going on in the system, what abuses they have been through or seen. We need teens who have experianced it and employees willing to step forward with the info that they have seen it or know of it happening. If I can get this, CNN will fund the docu and we can finally bring more attention to this horror.

If you can help by giving my contact info to anyone who may be of help, I would appreciate it. You may crosspost the info anywhere you feel may help the cause. I am also interested in helping as many groups as possible get the word out about this.

Thank you for your time,

it's amazing what editing devices are capable of now adays.... just be careful not to take anything the kids say out of context... film has a way of exploiting children.
