my friend
« on: September 24, 2002, 09:54:00 PM »
My friend was in aarc last year. They said she tested positive for all kinds of drugs even though she only smoked pot. They said the pot must have been laced with stuff, including heroin. She was only 17.
My friend got out, got pregnant and now has a beautiful little baby. She lives on her own and is away from aarc. She has a wonderful new boyfriend and a bright future in spite of it all.
One thing worth noting was that she told me they kept her so drugged up for the first few weeks and they said it was to help de-tox her. She thought that was very wrong.

Thanks for the good news! We get so much bad news around here that it's just really well apreciated when someone stops in to relay some good news. Your friend sounds a lot like me when I was just young. I got pregnant within the first year after my escape. The boyfriend is long gone and little missed (well, ok, I miss him sometimes... but I just back up and run him over again...)

My daughter's 18 now and just the most amazing young woman. It all worked out alright in the end.

AARC drugged her for her first two weeks?

Do they do this with everyone?
