I think that was very well put; however, as much as parts of me agree with you - there is a stronger side that deffers. Allow me to explain:
What would you *have* going on on this board. Every single person in elan experienced it differently than the next. For some it was a crushing, traumatic, life-warping experience (for better or worse) - For people who have moved on, it could be many things, among them being; fucked-up, nothing worth a mention, the stuff of nightmares, one big joke, my entire childhood, a few insignifigant months of my life... and so on.
I'd like to think most of us lie somewhere in between all those extremes.
But seriously -- we're not gonna just log on and have "relating-time" or "dwell-on-the-past" (pardon my elanspeak). This place is a free-for-all. And the rules are pretty clear if you read the first few posts. If someone wants to find someone they really liked, or despised, its still a decent venue. The rest of it, right now at least, is a handful of people who have too much free time on their typing hands and decide to joke around, fuck around, throw around some insults and words we've all heard a million times at the wall and seeing if they'll stick!
Some anons are decent folk, some are godless cocksuckers who should be thrown into a pit full of... etc... etc... but me at least, don't connect any faces to any shopping bags. Some people deicide to create a username and speak/spew from out behind it, more power to em'. It's all good, more or less.
Me for one, am not unhappy. I dont think about elan, even when I'm on this board, At this point, it's not even about that. free time and a computer - wasting time, I know. It won't change anything, you're right, but damn, it can be kinda amusing sometimes! Nobody here is taking this at all seriously... (I hope!!!) And I for one think that right there, is a good thing.
