3rd party tickets
« on: June 12, 2005, 11:40:00 PM »
How is it that Joyce Harris purchased tickets for strangers w/o ID to fly out of Utah? When my daughter and my little brother in law wanted to come home, we were informed that, under the new homeland security act, it was no longer legal for third parties to purchase tickets, even with ID. We wound up putting each of them on a Grayhoud bus. So... how did Joyce or anybody pull this off?

Something stinks in Denmark. I'll leave it to you to ferret out the source. I'm done.

Religion is based . . . mainly on fear . . . fear of the mysterious, fear of defeat, fear of death. Fear is the parent of cruelty, and therefore it is no wonder if cruelty and religion have gone hand in hand. . . . My own view on religion is that of Lucretius. I regard it as a disease born of fear and as a source of untold misery to the human race.
--Bertrand Russell, British philosopher, educator, mathemetician, and social critic

If you're under 18 you don't need ID at an airport. I've flown on third party tickets before in the past and know others as well. It's possible.

I flew home without id, and someone else bought me the ticket, thats because I am under 18. The boys even said who bought their ticket, and i think if it were otherwise, Joyce might say something.

and to add to that..maybe i know more than you think about this particular law because BEFORE i went to the whitmore..i had runaway and was with a guy older than 18 who got caught with me, and was in a deep deep hole. Luckily, his dad was the states DA..but that didnt completely help him out.

And, even failing that...
Quote
(1) with respect to sheltering a runaway child, shall, except as provided in subsection (h) of this section, be imprisoned not more than 30 days or fined not more than $500.00, or both;

The right of self-defense is the first law of nature; in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest possible limits. ... and [when] the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.
-- St. George Tucker, Judge of the Virginia Supreme Court 1803

Why were they so afraid to go back?
Who hid them in Nephi for two days?
