I've just read some of these testimonials from former students at Provo Canyon School. It's so outrageous that the authorities in Utah look the other way and allow this to continue.....

Honestly, if you seriously want to shut your Provo Canyon School down I highly suggest getting it exposured through televsion.  Write to Oprah and Montel Williams and talk show hosts that do those kinds of stories, that would be your best shot, if the school gets bad exposure than no one will send their child there hence they will lose money and shut down.

Discovery Academy is also in the Provo Area but it is not the same as Provo Canyon School. PCS is one of the largest programs in Utah. It looks like a nice boarding school from all appearances. It also costs about $350 per day - so one would expect their child to get the very best in both education and therapy. To some this may be true - but many have told of brutal isolation, forced drugging, rough take downs that left them injured and traumatized.  The authorities have so far done nothing - so this petition is a way to let them know just how many people don't approve of their methods.

Forgiveness is divine. Forgetfulness is just a mental dysfunction.

Provo Canyon School is NOT a school; my child was not only restricted of his civil rights but fell behind one whole school year in Academics because he was not taught on his school level.  My son was in fact drugged and locked in most of the time watching videotapes or climbing rocks all day.  Most of the things he did learn was how to curse and how to survive the system.

Provo Canyon School is currently trying to discredit those who are critical of their reprogramming.  According to a new website these people are manipulative and telling fantastic stories of staff brutality and neglect.
I don't think that hundreds of strangers who live all over the country would somehow conspire and tell the same types of stories of isolation, drugging with haldol, obs placement, staring at a wall, sensory deprivation and brutal takedowns to name a few.

I was over-drugged at Provo Canyon School.  I saw counselors pit individuals against each other and only stop it once blood was shed.   I received very little 'therapy' what so ever and was kept in urine filled rooms, underground and did not see the light of day for 6 months of the year I was there.
