My name was Carolyn Kelsay I was in Cincinaati Straight from 81-83 I went in at 13 and got out at 16, I was a runner and a misbehavior but I finaally 7th stepped My life was torn apart to the point of no return and I'm sorry to say it was only the beginning, I often wonder if the impact of being so brainwashed and no school ( practically) only set the stage for disaster. I have a hold on life now the crazy thing was I had to say I did asprin, alcohol,and prescriptions for 6 months translation....I drank 2 beers and there were a couple suicide attempts at 13 but they kept me. My problems after Straight Inc. were not drugs, just survival and with a messed up family and a 7th grade education your options are limited. Feel free to reply, and be safe.........Carrie
My name is Wesley Fager. I was in Straight's Northern Virginia camp from 1989 - 1990. My son got pretty banged up in that hell hole. I've spent the last three years of my life researching Straight and its predecessors and successors. Places like KIDS of Bergen County, Synanon Church and The Seed. If you have a story to tell, I'm the guy writing the book so let's hear it.
: It sure is good to see that people like Ginger and Scott are coming forward, least we forget. I encourage anyone who was in the cult, from a parent like me, to a phasor or sibling, or relative or friend, or just a knowledeable or concerned person, to consider publishing a web page to tell your story. If you don't have the expertise, I'm sure that people like Scott and Ginger can point you in the right direction to get started.
