Search on Marchman Act then click on the sight that says Mental Health then click on Marchman Act. Providing an individual in need of substance abuse services with emergency services and temporary detention for substance abuse evaluation and treatement when required, either on a voluntary or involuntary basis. You need a law enforcement officer's authority to implement protective custody measures in emergency situations, a private practioner, the persons spouse or guardian andy relative of the person, the director of a licensed svc provider or the directors designee or any 3 responsible adults with personal knowledge of the persons abuse. Contact a svc provider and confirm that a bed is available should the court find it necessary to enter an order authorizing the involuntary assessment and stabilation of the person. File with St. Petersburg Branch Office at 545 First Ave, North, St. or Petersburg: Probate Court records at 315 Court Street, Clearwater or the North County Branch Office at 29582 U.S. 19, North, Clearwater. Bring form of identification and an address or location where the person can be located by the sherriffs office. Court will review and contact you within 10 days. Person can be detained only 5 days. Call the clerks office location nearest you during normal working hours if you need more information.
