While processing articles into NonAnon, I ran accross one that listed Betty Sembler as VP of DARE America International. That shot to hell another chunk of one of my favorite opuses "Oh, that can't be related to the Straight, that's just to paranoid!"
So I've done a little poking around in various other areas of interest, one of them being homeschooling.
There is some legislation in the works relating to truancy and homeschooling that's got the local support groups at each other's throats. So I decided to check around a little and here's what I've found. The bill in question, SB852, is a train bill; lots of legislation will likely be attached to it because it has a lot of locamotive power in both houses. Here's the Florida Legislature Session info.

Searching on 852 will turn up all the trailers. Among them, so far, I've found these:
0002, which provides for an anonymous tip line that rings at the sheriff's office. But the person answering the call is required to maintain the anononymity of their agency. These agencies are only required to report to the school quarterly.
0046, which "...creates pilot project in specified counties to enable school districts in those counties to provide students with skills in conflict resolution, anger management, & related subjects"
More to come....
