Mel Sembler --Honorary Chairman

Mel Sembler, the former United States Ambassador to Australia, is chairman of the board of The Sembler Company, one of the nation’s leading shopping center developers. He is a long-time activist in Republican, Jewish, and civic causes.

Ambassador Sembler currently serves as National Finance Chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Ambassador Sembler served on the National Steering Committee and the National Finance Committee of the George Bush for President campaign. He has served as Co-Chairman of the RNC’s Team 100 and as a National Committeeman from his home state of Florida.

Ambassador Sembler and his wife Betty, a member of the NJC Executive Committee, have been active in the war on drugs. In 1976 they founded a successful adolescent drug rehabilitation program call STRAIGHT. Ambassador Sembler served on President Reagan’s White House Conference for a Drug-Free America and was an advisor on drug policy to President Bush.

The Semblers reside in St. Petersburg, Florida.
